CONWAY MILL FOUNDING COMMITTEE - History

From its inception to recent years, the committee of Conway Mill consisted of a group of dedicated individuals who believed that the community of West Belfast would have to and could build a better life for themselves than they had had for decades. These people included:

Frank Cahill
Fr. Des Wilson
Liam Burke
Alfie Hannaway
Jimmy Drumm
Jean McStravick
Sean O’ Neill
Tom Cahill
Colm Bradley

Over the years a number of these individuals have died or had to withdraw due to ill health but they remembered for their energy, their belief in and encouragement of their local community and their determination to leave a valuable, viable resource for future generations.
